The perfume was created by Rodrigo Flores-Roux, Givaudan perfume, on the basis of John Varvatos' idea to offer to the modern perfumery something that not just current, a fragrance that goes with the trends, but a perfume appreciated and coveted for its quality for a long time. Flores-Roux says that Varvatos' idea is was to create a fragrance perfume fans and consumers with think deeper. Composition of John Varvatos Star USA offers top notes of red ginger from Laos, juniper berries and cedrat. A heart incorporates blue spruce, green cardamom absolute and osmanthus absolute, while a base introduces vetiver, Venezuela tonka and belambre (Givaudan's molecule).

I personally love this smell. It is definitely on the woody/musky side but comes with a mild hit of brisk, sharp spice. I am a bourbon drinker so I guess maybe the aroma suits my pallet a little more. I wore this when I was younger and am happy to know it hasn't changed.

Seems to fade quickly but not all the way, I can notice it hours later but it took time to realize it. When first appllied it radiates from the body about arms length away. After an hour it rests on the skin so unless someone is right on top of you they won't smell it. I give 4 stars simply because it does smell good and cologne should be discovered and not announced. At least in my eyes. Just wish it didn't rest right on the skin

I would have rated this at least 4 stars if it lasted longer than my commute to work - only I get to enjoy it...where's the fun in that? Great scent, just needs to be re-applied each hour (not realistic).

Smells good, but cheaply made. Doesnt last very long and scent is not destinctive. it was recommended highest rated on this website. But on others its a very low rated colonge, and cost about 8 dollars a bottle. I regret getting it, but still enjoy this website.
