I love the cashmere mist deodorant. Aunt and I was thinking that this would smell like the deodorant it does not. I do not like the scent at all. And it doesn’t really smell too much like the perfume as well because I want to smell that at a store seeing if they match.

For me, this is a very outdated fragrance. It is generally pleasant but still does not appeal to me because it doesn't make me feel the way a great scent does.

This is a very strong smell. It smell just like laundry detergent. It is very powerdery and makes my noise twitch a little. But if laundry deterent is the scent you are going for then definently go for it.

The scent when immediately sprayed is very sweet. For me, it settled into a nice scent after a few hours, but that was after the floral notes wore off.

Not for me. It's a first time I'm disappointed. Overall the smell is not what I expected at all. I looove DK Black cashmere, I expected something familiar. Warm, powdery, feminine rich smell, but it's not. Maybe it's a nice smell for someone, but definitely not for me.

This scent is always in season. it is not too strong or too soft. Matches your mood.

So at first glance it resembles like a very bitter type chanel type perfume, but once it dries down a little the middle note is like a sweet floral, but the first spray is awful, just not for me It calms down once it dries down, but if you are that type of person who can immediately smell an old lady smell and gag I don’t recommend personally. I like it a bit after the dry down, but before that it’s not my favorite.

Smells like a warm area on a cold day with a book in your had neutral color soft sweater. Over smells decent. This scent is highly piwdery very very. But also a fresh crop linen smell. Over all I would not purchase again. You can get the same effect with a drier sheet.

A little much on the floral side for me. I love gourmand, spicy, woody fragrances and wanted to try something a little different. It is light which is good for daytime, however, it definitely doesn't last all day. I feel that the scent is completely gone after only a few hours.

Its strong at first scent then musky and then changes to your chemistry I suppose. Definitely would have given zero stars because I'm highly disappointed in this fragrance. Absolutely HATE it, if I could describe it in one word it would be “grandma” not good unless you are looking to smell like what your grandmother smelled like after a long day.

Still a favorite. I ran out a few years ago and haven’t worn it in a while. Soft, powdery with a hint of musk. She gets better as she sits on the skin. Stays with me all day in a way only myself and somebody close to me can enjoy.

You know a lot of the reviews said it was an old lady smell or something a grandma would wear. I didn't let those deter me from trying it out, and I will say that it does smell like a mature sent, but not old lady or grandma. I think it smells really nice, I would catch a whiff of this when I would move my arms during my work day and literally be drawn to smell my wrist. It has a mello sweet smell to it once it's been on for awhile and I really like that. It lasts a long time, I'm in and out of 100+ degree heat at work and i could still smell it after sweating and being just generally dirty.

I have been a huge fan of Donna Karan perfumes......her first perfume in the black and gold swan bottle was/is my favorite!! So disappointed that it is not available anymore! I love Cashmere Mist, but it doesn't last long on me. Still a fan though!!

I’ve sprayed this on my wrist several times to check out the scent, and It comes back to me as a mixture of baby power with a bit of menthol. It’s just not pleasing or appealing to me. I should probably switch it out for something else, but I want to try it on others to see if they get something else out of it.

I absolutely love the smell of cashmere, so I knew this one was a winner for me before I even received it. The only issue I had was that it does not last all day. I had to reapply during my lunch hour during an 8 hour shift. However, I love it so much, I'm buying a larger bottle so that I can spritz any time I want!!

I absolutely LOVE this scent! Next to Wonderlust and 212, this ranks as one of my top discovered favorites. It makes me feel powerful yet tame enough to wear every day. The only drawback is that it doesn't last as long as the 212 or Wonderlust, so I found myself having to reapply at about the 2.5 or 3 hour mark.

Love the scent, it last for a long time. Have received plenty of compliments since I have worn it. It smells a little musky in the sprayer container, but once sprayed it mellows down to a gentle floral scent. I love the fact that it is not breaking me out, that means that it is safe for me to use. This was mediocre in my opinion. At first overpowering, it does have a pleasant dry down scent which is not long lasting so reapplication is a must. While it was a fairly unusual scent and definitely more of a winter fragrance, it just didn't have much flare or appeal to me.

I was not a fan of this scent it smelled like an older perfume to me. I have hardly used it.

This is something I'd think an elegant woman would wear. This smells close to the fragrance my mother wears, which I love on her so it's a little nostalgic to me. I love how long lasting this wears, and strong it is. Definitely romantic date night perfume.

It's very strong at first bit subtle after an hour or so. Last all day and it only takes one spritz. Definitely a winter fragrance for that snowy by the fire kind of night.

Have tried it several times and I can’t force myself to like it. Very disappointing as it is the first one I decided to try with my subscription, its cheaper to try the scents but still a waste of money if I loathe the fragrance. Smells like a fragrance someone much older would use.

it smells great. the scent just doesn't last. For such an expensive perfume you would think it would last at least half of the day.

I did not care for this scent. Oddly enough, for someone who really likes perfume, I think this scent smells too perfumey. It has a very strong soapy floral note that reminds me of the types of scents that my grandmother wears. I did give it an extra star because I really like the design of the bottle…it is lovely! Just not for me.

I expected that the edp would simply be a more concentrated version that would last longer than the edt. However, that is not the case on me. The edp is a sultrier scent altogether. Although similar to the edt, it actually smells like a different fragrance on me after a little while. Initially they are very close, but give the edp a little time to develop, and it changes to a warmer, sultrier concoction that is absolutely beautiful in its own unique way. The odd thing is that the edp does not last any longer than the edt, and if I had to say which one lasts a little longer on me, I would pick the edt over the edp! Go figure! At any rate, I’m actually glad I have them both. The edt is a sexy day scent, while the edp can take me day into night. I love them both!

Once I find a perfume I love I wear it literally for years. I like a softer fragrance for daytime and a sexier one for evenings....for a long time I wore Calvin Klein's 'Truth' for day, until a bottle broke into a million pieces. :^( I had smelled this in a store and absolutely adored it, but it was too expensive for me at the time. Yesterday my boyfriend gave me a gift set from Nordstrom's complete with the perfume and body lotion, with a pleather satchel - WONDERFUL. The cream is divine, very soft and super moisturizing, and the perfume itself is phenomenal. Soft, slightly vanilla, slightly sandalwood, with a powdery undertone that's just fantastic. You cannot overspray yourself with this; it just blends beautifully. The prices here are great.

Very different from what I usually like. Floral and a little powdery yet fresh and clean and ultra feminine perfect for daytime a nice change from oriental spicy a must have!

I wish to goodness I could see what others seem to in this scent. I'd love to find something I liked that well. To me it's just a so so baby powder scent vaugley remeniscent of the old "Heaven Scent" frag from high school days. Maybe I'm missing something. I'll give it another try soon.

I was seeking an alternative to White Shoulders and my winter scent of Chanel - this perfume if divine! It exudes a classy, timeless, richly warm scent that does not overpower but teases and tantalizes. LOVE it!!!

I try not to be too judgmental when it comes to fragrances. I keep an open mind and honestly it all depends on your body chemistry. I complimented someone the other day because she was wearing this fragrance and it smelled absolutely fresh, clean and intoxicating on her. Some people can wear most fragrances better than others. To me this does not smell like an old lady's scent. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I can't decide if I like this or not, it's not offensive, just sort of so-so, soft vanilla fragrance, you can get this smell in a million different fragrances, not very complex or unique, but nice if that's what you're looking for.

I have read many reviews that this perfume is for the 'older' lady but I desagree. I am 23 but fell in love with it and it wears beautifully on me - I have compliments. A perfume is for any age and works with your own individual chemistry. It's not over powering... instead it's ultra feminine , soft, subtle, sexy and beautiful. People who were over powering scents just give me a head ache now!

I think this warm intoxicating scent should stay on your dresser. It's a winter scent but I feel if used in the right amount it could be worn all day.

I got this one as a gift, and while I may like the scent, it doesn't stay with me long. It smells just like some really good shampoo to me! I get compliments and all that, but the funniest ones are always, "Did you wash your hair today? You smell so good!" I do wash my hair, but none of my shampoos smell like this. Go figure!

Everyone and their dog wears it. I appreciate its powdery floral notes, makes me feel like putting on that angora sweater and snuggling with my honey by the fire. Unfortunately, it makes way to many of us feel the same way LOLLL.

The softness of this scent not only appeals to me, but my man loves it too. And I love the fact that he has to get close to me to smell it, instead of being able to smell me from a block away.

Extrovert types will find this perfume way too softly spoken. If you love it like I do, I think you will also enjoy Be 21 by Orlane and Cerruti 1881. Also try MaxMara which also contains cashmere notes.

I purchased the EDT and returned it. I loved it on paper but on my skin it had too much alcohol. Then my daughter surprised me with the pure parfum (what a sweetie!). Oh it is so heavenly! I'ts soft and lovely and smells exactly the way Cashmere Mist is advertised. The EDT in my opinion is too harsh. I wear the parfum during the day and when I am going out at night. When I go to the gym, play tennis, or after my nightly shower, I wear the Body Oil Spray. I like it because it contains the parfum and very little alcohol.

Cashmere Mist is a long in coming scent to me. It seems that I have spent my whole life hoping for a scent like this one to come into my life and now here it is. Gently alluring and sweetly intoxicating it makes me feel like I'm on a cloud. It's soft and warm and very tender. Cashmere Mist isn't arrogant, or too bold, or aggressive... perhaps maybe not even assertive enough, but it cradles me and comforts me and makes me feel like I'm still in the midst of all chaos, like nothing can touch me. That is a feeling I cherish and allow myself to feel once in a while and when I need to evoke that feeling into my life I spray some Cashmere Mist as nothing else would do.

This is not what I'd wear but it isn't bad (like DKNY "Be Delicious" - that really sucks!) Cashmere Mist is feminine and powdery and if you're into that, you'll like it. Not really my taste but I can appreciate a good perfume when I smell one.

I have smelled this in an Allure magazine insert and loved it! It's not at all like a lot of the sweet/fruity scents that are out there now. Very unique and different!

I smelled it in a mag first and loved it...found it to be even better in person. Light, yes, but very fresh and sexy, love the jasmine and sandalwood. Not for everyone, but if you like warm and soft, it's perfect!

Mist is such a wonderful, soft and 'innocent' scent. (It just gives off that innocence vibe). I JUST LOVE IT. I see ppl on here saying that it smells like soap and baby-powder but I don't think so. Cashmere Mist is gentle and powdery, but not in a soap-like way, it's very feminine and sexy. And once it's allowed to develop on the skin works it's magic for sure. I get complements on Cashmere Mist, from ppl even after many hrs of wear, at which point I usually think that the scent is no longer detectable, and yet ppl still approach to say that the scent I wear is so beautiful and I smell so good. By the way, for those of you who are concerned regarding smelling too confrontational, or too loud this is the one for you. Personally, I love loud and boisterous scents as much as I enjoy Mist's softeness and it's bewitching, enchanting qualities. But if you're the type who'd worry about offending ppl with your fragrances this one is a definite must add-on to your fragrance wordrobe. Enjoy ladies!

This scent is too light for my taste. It is light and green dewy. The dry down however smells like the just bathed scent. Not bad, but not what a serious perfume should evoke. I like Chanel and Kenzo Flower.

From the moment I tried this fragrance, I knew it was MY smell. It makes me feel very chic, seems like a day in the winter when you are so lazy and happy and wearing a big, soft sweater.

I bought the deodorant.. its luxurious and refined, i agree it is comforting, somewhat entrancing. When i wear this i really notice the smell all day. Nice.

It probably smelled awful because it was a stale bottle of fragrance. I encounter that a great deal, and it's terrible when it happens -- you can't wait to wash your wrist, and it just lingers and lingers. Honestly, when this fragrance is fresh, while it may turn out not to be to your taste, it is without question not rancid. That is really the fault of poor storage conditions. Light is the worst, heat not far off, so if it's been out in the open on the counter in a department store it's already at risk. The last time this happened to me was with Alfred Sung "Sung"; I brought it to the saleswoman's attention, she opened a fresh bottle -- and what a difference!! Also beware the small samples; they turn bad very, very quickly because they're more exposed to light and oxygen and heat just because of their size relative to surface area.

I always liked the fragrance of Cashmere Mist, but had problems with 'staying power' too. The Pure Cashmere / EDP is the answer to the problem. It smells the same as, if not better than, the EDT and lasts all day. Give it a try!

I bought a bottle of this perfume after trying it on, but after 30 minutes there was NOTHING. I have tried layer it with the matching body product, being "heavy handed" with the perfume. NO LASTING POWER. It is pointless to spend a lot of money when no one much less yourself can smell the fragrance. Wish Donna Karen could be out a more intense version of this scent that has some lasting effect.

I really tried to like this fragrance, but I can't. I usually like most of powdery perfumes out there, but this one is an exception. There is something in it which remembers me of fresh painted walls, LOL. Smells very artificial.

I just couldn’t get with this one. As others have said, the powdery overtones are way too much. Even worse, it reminded me of Dolce & Gabbana Feminine which reminds me of scented pantiliners!

This is the one i am so greatful to have found1 ! Comfort perfume can be bandied around far to much as a description for certain perfumes. This one IMHO IS a comfort perfume. Hypnotic poison was too much for me. If you like that one then you might like this one. Gorgeous.

I tried this on at the store and loved it. I bought the bottle without heist, but then within 1/2 hour the scent faded. So a few days later I bought the shower gel and lotion to try the layer effect - NO SUCCESS. I wish the perfume could last but it doesn't. Not worth the money with you or anyone else cannot smell it.

This has the potential to be good, but it's kind of sickening. Even lightly sprayed it has a very, I don't know, overly sweet powdery smell. It's just not good. I think I can imagine this smelling good (if lightly applied) on someone else, but I can't carry it off.

This is one that you can always go back to...very light, woody though, with hints of almonds or something. Seems like a girl with a raspy voice would wear it. I think it's sexy and can be worn for day or evening. I really like it.

I just love this perfume. It's a beautiful fragrance, light and not too over powering. Sexy and clean. It truly does remind me of the classic elegance of cashmere. The 10 year anniversary limited editon "pure cashmere" is a great deal. 1.7oz Eau de Parfum for $55. And there's a set out there with the 1.7 oz perfume,solid perfume compact, and dry body oil mist. If you can find them don't hesitate! It won't be around for long...This is already a classic and much loved perfume. I've tried to find a pefume similar,but it's the only one with that "just right" scent.

Such a soft fragrance, like a polar opposite from Black Cashmere. I actually love both Black Cashmere and Cashmere Mist...one is warm and spicy and sexy and the other is soft, arid, inviting just like a cashmere sweater! I am enthralled!

Thanks. I'm trying to find a new perfume but I'm always afraid to get something that smells too "grandmothery."

Lovely, light scent, not overpowering or floral smelling at....

I find this scent too light for the price. And its not anything special. Vanilla and soft can be achieved at the drugstore too. To me its not worth it. I like something more complex. Its definitely not a bad scent..smells lovely...I found it fades way to quick also.

I wanted to like this one so bad, but after spraying this one on my hand, it annoyed me after a while. It was too dry and powdery and gave me a headache. Guess it's not made for my type of skin...

I tried this out in my mid 20's, looking for something sexy and warm, yet subtle (I get perfume headaches). I was still single and found that men I knew weren't all into flowery, fruity, "loud" perfume, so this was perfect all around. Well, I got married, have kids & am now 30. I recently decided to splurge again on perfume not from Wally World, and took my dh on a "sniffing spree". We tried 4 "best" on while we walked the mall. After repeated smelling, he declared that it was definitely "the one". Said I smelled like a naughty angel. 'Nuff said!

For a long time I didn't wear perfume because I have allergies to the strong scents BUT I love the smell from the bottle and I love the scent on me, so soft, light,romantic. Lasts all day. If it smells funky on some women after awhile that's because the oil in their body is funky.

I am one for some good smelling perfumes, (you know like a foot-fetish), well you have just met a perfume fetish! Or should I say that I am honored to be a Cashmere Mist fetish, this is by far one o the best smelling ingredients that have whipped together! It kinda makes you wanna do things that only people like you and me can imagine, lol, lol nah but on the real side it's one of them things you never leave home without!!!

I am 24 and wear it. I think it is nice for young people to wear.

Anyone who's smelled this perfume or wears it, is it more for older women or can someone in their 20s wear it? I don't want to wear something too mature.

Fabulous, soft alluring scent!

I just started wearing this and I am in love with it! I can't stop smelling myself. There is something sweet in it that I like. I have the lotion which is really nice-soft and subtle. If you layer it the scent stays with you all day. Thank you Donna Karan!

I think the same as Pia in previous message. There is nothing unpleasant in this scent, but nothing remarkable either!

this reminds me of what a baby smels like after bathing and powdering it's soft skin. lovely for the baby to smell like that but not for me.

My boyfriend loves this scent almost as much as I do. I wore Dune and Obsession for years. This is soft and slightly musky, yet different from those two. I just can't get enough of it.

Bought this today and it is wonderful. My husband loves they way it smells on me.

I liked the smell in the bottle but when I sprayed it on, it smelled awful. I like the look of the bottle though.

Bought this one today...I also can tell you that as a person who can't wear most perfumes. This one I can wear...very nice and light. Make sure to get the Eau de toilette though!

As a person with severe allergies, this is the ONLY perfume that doesn't send me into an allergy attack (itchy nose, watery eyes)- and the smell is wonderfully soft and clean.

The original cashmere mist is a wonderful scent...feminine, airy, and not overpowering like many perfumes can be. However, the limited edition summer version of cashmere mist is not worth the investment. It is so light that it is undetectable to the wearer. Stay with the original - it's perfect for any season.

Great. It's light, soft, long lasting, lingering, romantic. It's a wrapping scent that doesn't bother. Good for all seasons. The bottle is also original. It's number 1 for me. I highly recommend it.

I really love the way this perfume smells, however, it is just TOOO faint! It doesn't linger too long, but I can recommend Petits et Mamans, which is similar (baby powderish/floral) but lingers for muhc longer...CHEAPER TOO!

Whew, this scent is interesting: In the bottle, it's drier sheets scent, no question about it. On my skin... It becomes complexe, deep, woodsy, full, it's like opening Pandora's box and finding the devil in miss Jones! (in a good, naughty way) Oh, and about the new summer alcohol free version: It's awful on skin, leaves a nasty film on it, but it makes a great hair styling product, for light hold and texture while leaving a slight scent.

Lovely! I wish it is stronger and last longer. If vanilla is bit more dominant..then it is perfect, I think.

This cologne is the best! It makes me feel soft, delicate and pretty. It drives men wild!!

alrite ive decided .... cashmere mist is one of my favorites. I love it! I love perfumes that smell babyish n soft. I think this pefume smells very innocent. 10 stars from me :)

okay i know many people adore this perfume...but let me tell you...there's a hint of funk...you cant really put your finger on it when you first smell it...but trust me after a while it just lyk eww this reaks...take my advice...

Which is better - the lotion or the cream?

Donna Karan DID come out with a perfume version of this fragrance, it lasts a lot longer than the EDT. However, if you use the C.M soap, dry oil spray and EDT, lasting power will not be an issue. The matching antiperspirant lasts forever! It is a scent that is better suited for warm weather, IMHO, somehow the woody and musky background get lost in cold temps.

That's a very soft fragrance. I like it. It dries down on me as a powdery soft perfume but there is some ingredient that I cannot identify which bugs me.

I love the way this fragrance smells on my clothes and linens, however, it absolutely wreaks on my skin. I returned a bottle after wearing it just a few times. I just couldn't take it.

Best scent ever!

I love this but I notice that I consider it an everyday perfume. When I am ready to dress up or if it's an occasion I wear something stronger and more exotic. This is nice and soft and doesn't turn anybody off.

I really love this fragrance. I have not worn it long enough in a day to know if it wears off easily as some of the reviewers say. It is slightly exotic w/o being weird.

Very light and pretty. A powdery vanilla scent not an overpowering floral like most perfumes. One of my favorites! If you like this scent you may also like Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel and Romance by Ralph Lauren.

This scent is very nice, but it is very light and hard for others to smell. Wears off easily too.

Lovely, soft fragrance. Not overpowering. As to lasting scent, I'd rather have a soft fragrance which lasts a shorter time (can reapply as needed) which isn't stifling.

I bought it for my girlfriend for Christmas. The scent is quite feminine with its light, smooth, soft-skin scent. There is not masciline smell in it whatsoever. I hope she likes it.

All the salespeople at Neiman marcus,Macy's,Filenes &Bloomingdales swear that Black Cashmere is Chaos repackaged.It really does not work for my chemistry,but I love smelling it on others.It's quite spicy,dark,musky, a tad sweet and very aromatic.

This is a wonderful, soft, feminine scent. It's in no way overpowering. One of my favorite scents.

It took me a while to get around to sampling Cashmere Mist. At first, it made an impression I recognized from Emporio Armani for Women. Then the sandlewood took over and became too dominant on me. All the comfort and softness others talk about regarding Cashmere Mist just went out the window.

I'm so excited about Black Cashmere. I smelled it in a magazine and now I'm obsessed with buying it. I have called every department store in my city and nobody is selling it. I don't know where to buy it. Does Black Cashmere really smell like Chaos? I have never smelled Chaos but if it smells anything like Black Cashmere then it must be sensational.

This is the best perfume I have ever used, and needless to say I have tons. Smell kind like the victoria secret angel line in a way. Very romantic and sexy!

Donna Karan just came out with Black Cashmere,which is,incidently, identical to the discontinued Chaos. The new packaging is sleek and black,and there are bath products in the line.

I love this fragrance. I read about it on the another website and the combination of jasmine, vanilla, and sandalwood sounded intriguing. I bought a gift set the next time I went to the mall and fell in love with it instantly!! I have several fragrances but I find myself coming back to this over and over. Powdery and soft this is one my favorites!

One of the few newer fragrances that doesn't feel like someone drove a spike up my nose. Very light and decidedly different. For me, it's a keeper.

After I read your comments I wonder whether I smelled the same perfume. The name's the same, though. When I first tried whatever it was, I thought,oh that smells like Naomi (Naomi Campbell), but when I went and actually compared, the likeness was but distant. Cahsmere Mist smells clean, there must be lavender in it, and warm as well. Comforting. But to me it doesn't really smell like a perfume, more like fabric softener.

Ever So light and Feminine. It has a bit of everything, mostly musky, but a bit floral and spicy as well, yet, very light and clean smelling, it blends with almost any friend of mine that tried it. (since everyone has a different body chemistry). I would say a diffinate right on this time for DKNY's latest.

This is so overrated...and overpriced. It has so much jasmine smothered by vanilla that it smells like a dime store perfume.

I love this perfume. It's incredibly feminine, without being too flowery or sweet. It reminds me of powder with a lot of vanilla in it. My boyfriend also loves it. I just wish it lasted a little longer.
