the opening of a juicy mango settles into the bitter durian and dries down like a creamy mango on my skin. i love to pair this with nemat’s vanilla oil underneath for a mango and cream type of scent. i don’t think it lasts super long though.

Gold Juice by Born to Stand Out — my sample was delivered today. I will say that it does lean feminine, but it is not one of those fragrances that feels like it has to be worn by a woman. It would just be more of an acquired taste on a man. I can only really think of one or two occasions where I would wear it. Probably at night on an island holiday, when you do not want to stink the place out and just want to smell fruity, clean and summery. In that setting, it would probably work quite well. It definitely has a soapy quality, and I think that is what makes it lean more feminine. On the initial spray, the rhubarb and mango are strong, but the sourness of the rhubarb is almost sharp enough to compare to an antibacterial spray or some kind of cleaner. It smells like the nice bathroom you were not expecting to walk into at a restaurant. You thought it might be a bit naff, but actually it smells quite pleasant in there. After a few minutes, it retains that tropical mango freshness, supported by the durian. I think the durian is mainly there for texture and creaminess rather than to make the fragrance smell obviously like durian. The floral notes are certainly there. They are middle notes, but they sit quite high when you smell the fragrance. There is mango, and then there is something else behind it. You know it is there, but it is not screaming at you. It is more like the twinkle in the eye of the leading man, with mango being the leading man. The caramel and guaiac wood also feel as though they are there more for texture, structure and longevity than to strongly affect the scent itself. I would not necessarily pick either of them out clearly. Overall, it is sharp, feminine-leaning, soapy and fruity. I would give it a 3 out of 5. I was hoping for something more inventive from the durian note. It is not a terrible fragrance at all, and I can see it working very well on a woman, or on a man who enjoys this style. I probably would not wear it personally outside of those few exceptions I mentioned. Good, but could it have done more?

I love this so much more than I expected to! It's the perfect bright,fruity fragrance with a sexy twist. It's not super strong but lasts a good while on the skin. It's perfect for daytime or office wear. It's definitely worth purchasing!

Very potent but smells great! More floral forward in my opinion.
