Frederic Malle
En Passsant is a whiff of white lilac in the morning wind. A simple note, white lilac, seized in a short instant, at the cusp of springtime. Composed by Olivia Giacobetti, En Passant is an evocation of Doisneau's Paris, of divine smells wafting from gardens hidden behind walls. A few orange leaves, cucumber absolute and wheat absolute, that accompany this impressionist perfume.
En Passant by Frederic Malle is a Floral Green fragrance for women. En Passant was launched in 2000. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivia Giacobetti.
As far back as she can remember, Olivia Giacobetti had always wanted to become a perfumer. After training at Robertet, she opened her own laboratory. The perfumes that touch her are often echoes of everyday life and nature, endless sources of inspiration. A fleeting emotion, a mood, a detail, an attitude, as many small fragments of life that carry new wishes with them. Her compositions combine deep simplicity with very contemporary sophistication. From the scent of a peel of yellow wood that smelled like quince to the fragrance of sweet sand or incense in a temple, Olivia Giacobetti transforms her finds into true perfumed odes.

Pretty, soft green floral. I need more time with it, but I like it.
Obsessed. This smells like spring. I smell jasmine, lilacs, white musk, some soft woods. It’s very soft and clean on my skin with about a 4 ft projection. The longevity is at least 6 hours for me. I’m looking for a full bottle for sure.
Beautiful Lilac fragrance. It smells exactly like Lilacs.
Too old lady smelling
It's okay. I wouldn't get it again. Old lady vibes.
Meh, not that interesting. It’s a floral fragrance. From the reviews I was expecting a realistic lilac fragrance. It just smells like a typical floral to me. Also I’m not a floral person unless it’s interesting or realistic. Borderline grandma for sure.
It's a lovely lilac soliflore.
Photorealistic dewy lilacs. A little Indolic for my tastes, but very very real smelling floral.
This scent arrived in the month of April in a year when the lilacs bushes were at their peak. The blooms stayed around for weeks and I enjoyed many spectacular bushes in my neighborhood that perfumed the air with their gorgeous fragrance. En Passant, I am thrilled to say, is faithful and realistic to the natural flower. It is also the longest lasting lilac fragrance I have encountered. I couldn't ask for a better way to keep the lovely memory of this springtime with me. Sadly, my cherished pet passed away soon after the end of April, which makes this scent all the much more special and significant as a way of remembering his last days during that beautiful month.
When I was a child, my favorite smell was the lilacs in my backyard which would only bloom for a week or two twice a year. I have not seen a lilac bush for over a decade or two. I have been trying to find a similar scent everywhere. En passant is handsdown an amazing lilac scent with enough greeness and woodiness to balance out a scent that can sometimes be overpowering. It is incredible
Nice scent just not for me. It’s light floral. The dry down is nice. There are so many others I prefer to this one.
After a long fall and winter of spicy fragrances, this floral blend is a nice change of pace. Bring on Spring!
Not at all what I expected from the notes listed. I’ll keep trying but it’s just not good.
