Vanitas opens with a chilly dose of myrrh, which is almost medicinal at first, but as it warms on the skin, its deep, resinous sweetness emerges and blends with the creamy warmth of truly excellent vanilla.

Delicate orange flower enhances the high notes, and sandalwood adds a dark golden bass line but the heart of this accord is the exquisite pairing of vanilla and myrrh. The myrrh adds mystery to all the luscious qualities we love in vanilla and brings in a dark sweetness that is not at all food like.

I wanted so much more from this. Starts as a basic vanilla cotton candy type spray, but dries down with a synthetic chemical twang that makes it weird.

This is extremely sweet while being artificial and plasticky. Partner said "cotton candy flavored bubblegum" and that's accurate. I actually find this one offensive. I'm not sure how this one sells. A very juvenile fragrance, though even on a teenager this is shockingly bad. I can't think of a person or occasion for whom this fragrance would be appropriate. There are too many other beautiful niche frags on the market to mess around with this. The more I try from this house the more I realize they do not consist of any of the naturals for which they are touted. High oil content doesn't mean high quality perfume, unfortunately.

One of my favorite Vanilla perfumes! This is so sweet and develops over time. Do not want the beginning of this fool you.. it may smell little medicinal in the beginning, but on the dry down, it is a very grown-up vanilla but still sweet. This sent last forever and has a very good projection.

This is super sickly sweet! I really do like a good vanilla, but this is much, much too much for me. There is a raspberry/ cherryade note to it which.. is just out of context with the rest of the scent. May be a skin chemistry thing, but it is a hard pass! Just wish I could return it in the UK ??

I like this one a lot. It doesn’t have that fake vanilla scent like some perfumes have even the high end ones. I was quite pleased with this one. It’s not as long lasting as I was anticipating but it lasts a while on clothes. It’s a grown up vanilla candy scent to me. It’s a lovely gourmand.

My husband said this smells like bad food. I say it smells like rotting limes mixed with grass clippings. Even after the dry down, it didn’t improve much. Not a fan.
