Profumum Roma
A delicious and sophisticated gourmand scent built on the always enticing combination of chocolate and orange. The bitter orange opening is bright and sharp and does not fade away, but melds beautifully with the intense and luscious chocolate note that dominates the blend. The notes list bitter chocolate, but it does not have the aggressive bite of unsweetened baker's squares. Instead it reminds us of fine, European bittersweet cocoa powder like Valrhona or Callebaut rich and dark, with just a hint of sweetness.
Dusted over fresh orange and velvety woods and perhaps a creamy vanilla tinged note, as well, this is a luxurious, grown up cocoa with no marshmallows in sight. Sorriso is one of the most elegant chocolate scents we have ever encountered. It isn't sugary or buttery and it doesn't juxtapose the edible elements with surprising, jarring notes.
It is smooth and balanced, earning its sophistication by embracing the bitter elements of chocolate, as well as the sweet, and by using soft, soothing wood as an anchor. Sorriso means smile and this fragrance will surely evoke many of them.

When I first received this fragrance, it didn't make sense to me. I'd been trialling lots of gourmands and this didn't stand out. It didn't feel harmonious somehow. After a few months, I tried it again, and there's is something really comforting about it. Chocolate was always going to have cosy connotations, but there is something about the plasticy, root beer/artificial cherry opening note that people have mentioned, that to me reminds me of plastic beach inflatables?? I don't know how, but altogether with the chocolate note that is waxy and lotion-y, I got this memory of a British summer holiday by the sea. No idea why. But it's nice to me. I never spray enough of any fragrance for me to really judge the longevity or sillage fairly, because I never want to gag myself. So take those scores with a grain of salt. Also the season and occasion I consider appropriate for fragrances is bonkers and I know it.
Initial spray is very strong. Once it's settled, it's a soft, warm cocoa powder with citrus shavings. Nothing too noteworthy about it for me. Reminds me of Qissa Delicious by Lattafa which is also dark chocolate and orange which I find better.
I smell chocolate and some sweetness, it is quite oily. Underneath there is something off-putting, something stale. I do not like it.
Really interesting dark chocolate fragrance! Not classically “perfumey” in any way, but not overly sweet either. Performance is mediocre but it is a lovely unique scent choice.
I felt nauseous as soon as I smelled it. It's way too sweet for me, and I wish I could return it. After reading some reviews, I saw that people say the scent takes time to develop, so I might give it another try. But honestly, just thinking about how it smelled when I sprayed it makes me feel sick again
It’s giving chocolate cocoa puffs and/or hot chocolate which I actually liked. Pair it with Black Opium Extreme by YSL and it creates a great gourmand combo. Perfect for nights of drinking hot chocolate by a fire.
This one has quickly become a favorite.
Musky and overpowering
This is a lovely, chocolatey scent. There's a bit of complexity from the orange, but it's not distinguishable as orange, if that makes sense. However, it quickly faded to a skin scent on me, and longevity wasn't great. I have that issue with most frags though, and I've heard others say that this one lasts a good while, so perhaps it's just me.
Light scent
This is my second decant of Sorisso. The opening comes off kinda plasticity for a few minutes, and this is a fragrance that smells a great deal better in the air than on the skin. But I still think it's an awesome scent. A cross between dark and milk chocolate with a slight orange accord. I feel that the projection and silage is strong but the scent itself is somewhat light. Definitely love it though.
Upon first spray, it is very boozy to me, then settles into a powdery, chocolate covered orange peel. It’s sweet, but the woody note keeps it from being too cloying. I am happy to be have been able to try it, but not sure it is full bottle worthy.
Anyone else getting Carmex? I swear, this stuff smells like a mentholated, cherry medicine when you first spray it. If you can get past the initial smell, the dry down is a lightly sweet, powdery vanilla with a hint of chocolate. Not gourmand, if that's what you're looking for, but that opening... GAG! The dry down smells innocent and sweet, but the longevity is lacking.
Love this one! Sweet without being cloying or headache inducing. I pick up chocolate, vanilla, orange and a woody scent that stops it from being full gourmand. I’m excited for this one on Winter nights!
Was really excited about this one only to be disappointed. It smells like playdoh to me, especially right after you spray it. It dried down to a confection scent that...reminded me of playdoh. I didn't smell any of the orange.
100% waxy cocoa butter scent. Basically a long lasting lotion smell that projects. Definitely for cold weather. If you want to smell like chocolate, go for Montale Chocolate Greedy. Has a milk chocolate bakery smell. This perfume is not worth the heavy price unless you want to smell like strong cocobutter wax candle.
I have gotten so many compliments on this. It starts out with a strange sort of root beer scent and unfolds into a beautiful vanilla/chocolate scent that isn’t too cloying. It’s more sophisticated than juvenile, probably because of the bitter orange. I really liked this one.
