Issey Miyake
Issey Miyake presents Shades of Kolam, two Eaux de Toilette born from an extraordinary journey. An unprecedented collaboration between the perfumer Marie Salamander, and the artistic duo, Twice Studio. These three creatives came together in India, right in the heart of the Tamil Nadu state in the city of Chennai. Together, they had an idea to discover the art of Kolam and to draw inspiration from it to reinterpret the iconic scents, L’Eau d’Issey and L’Eau d’Issey pour Homme.
Why choose Kolam. Kolam is a singular art form, that has been passed down for centuries from mother to daughter, generation upon generation. It is a technique which combines artistic expression and mathematical intuition as well as ancestral sprinkling techniques. These geometric patterns, drawn by Indian women using rice powder and colored pigments, form captivating arabesques, which interlock in concentric circles to create mandalas.
To bring life to the bottles for this special edition, the designers started from scratch by designing the Kolam inspired lettering. The main hue, blazing royal blue echoed in the transparent tone of the bottle and the bold color of the cap is a reminder that in India, blue is a warm color.
The fragrance bursts open with an explosion of cardamom, backed by a luminous beam of pomelo and bergamot. At the heart of the perfume, a green tea accord draws out the elegance of the sophisticated coriander seed. The woody base, composed of cedar and cashmeran, evokes the incandescent warmth of southern India, as well as the softness of the milky cardamom tea that is drunk in the markets of Chennai.

Definitely not for everyone but those that like it will love it. It’s niche and might be a gem to others but a little too subtle for certain taste. I used it and I’m a woman.
smells like reality surf by bladee
I liked it... it was different
right in the trash
Not bad.
Horrible. Smells like sun screen lotion. Would never buy this.
Smelled awful. Returned immediately
Really bad. So happy they offer exchanges because this one went right back. Just an uninviting chemical scent.
light, playful, fruity, fun
Not what I would usually go for BUT a great alternative. I'll buy as something to switch up with. Great scent to wear on a regular weekend night out.
I thought it smelt too feminine
I like that it had a sweet scent it lasts for a good 7-8 hours long I can still smell it now a day after just not as strong. Very good fragrance I have to get a bottle
It smelled great and would buy it for the summer.. But I had a(n)allergic reaction.
Not wat I expected but smells good
Don’t like it, not my vibe
Ehh more for younger guys in their 20s
This here winter is now different with this scent. Your wife will be proud and suspicious at the same time. Something to let her know what’s going to happen at the end of the night.
I liked it but didn't last long
Husband liked it, just not what he prefers.
This fragrance is absolutely beautiful. I can't wait to buy a full sized bottle.
Didn’t like it to musky for my taste
Enjoyed this scent would reorder
Good fragrance wasn’t disappointed at all. It just wasn’t what I was looking for.
Nothing like anything I’d ever choose for myself. It’s far too dark, spicy, and musky for this guy who loves light, floral/fruity scents.
3.5- smells fresh and clean, which isn’t my preference but I think it smells good once it’s settled on my skin. I’ve gotten compliments first two times I wore.
Smells great
Fresh manly. Floral cologne
Love it
Smells great! Woody - evening - gray fragrance. I’d recommend.
Perfect aroma for me
Does not last
Smells good
I haven't got it yet looking forward to it
Smells like perfume my mom would wear.
Smells like Axe bodyspray. I felt like a mens locker room. Cheap and terrible
I want more but can't find it in the list of fragrances.
