Just got this one and my girl loves it

Probably the most complimented scent I’ve worn. Smells familiar yet elevated.

This might be my new all time favorite. It is a perfect blend of sweet , spicy and fruity. It has a great silage and longevity. I cannot recommend this enough.

This might have passed BR540 as my favorite scent. It didn’t start out like that. The first time i sprayed it, i honestly didn’t like it…but within 30 minutes i was hooked. i don’t know how to describe scents like some of you but the opening scents are very powerful and that’s what i didn’t like. the "dry down" is what sold me. and i see a bit of negative reviews mentioning either longevity or projection..maybe it’s different for everyone but i haven’t had any issues with that. i spray one spray on my shirt and one on my wrists, and i tap my wrist to my neck as well. i can smell it 7 hrs later and days later on my clothes still.

The top note is a bit off-putting but after 30 minutes it transforms into something sweet and warm and very very nice. Classy and sophisticated fragrance. Unfortunately, longevity, sillage, and projection are all very low. I recommend spraying on clothes as well as skin.

Wife says it smells like vapor rub. It kinda does, with a touch of cinnamon spice.

Amazing like sweet but perfect

After all the hype of this fragrance, I decided to give it a go. Super disappointed unfortunately. So much so that I returned it. Just personal preference of course, but not for me!

Smells really good, but the fragrance doesn't last long enough for me, or maybe I became nose-blind throughout the day. I think it would be phenomenal as an everyday wear, but for the price I can't see it unseating something like Chanel's BDC or PR's 1 Million Lucky for me.

I enjoy it. A little too much vapor rub to feel totally comfortable wearing what is known as a very mass appealing scent.

Smell is strong and very low performance. Heard so many great things and was very excited to receive, but ended up disappointed. I was much happier with Creed Aventus.

I’m giving this 4 stars mainly because it’s not for me. That being said, it is a very good smell, just not my style. It is very warm with hints of tobacco and vanilla. It’s something that you can wear on a night out or date night. It’s more of a fall type of smell. I do prefer more fresh or citrus smells but I tried to get out of comfort zone. I do plan on maybe using it for fall/winter outings. If you like sweet and warm, this is for you. On top of everything, this cologne last a very long time so it doesn’t disappoint in that category. Overall good cologne, just not for me, otherwise it would be a 5 star

Right now it's my go to. Smells like warn apple pie with touches of vanilla . The scent last on my clothes.

Very very sweet It smells good but it could be closer to being a women fragrance become of how sweet and the projection is bad it barely sits on the skin.

The beginning notes are sweet and light, however it's a quickly over powering medicinal /bitterness /cough syrup smell that makes it a immediate No for me. Longevity is good though.

This is my favorite selection so far. Fantastic smell, excellent projection and longevity. Everyone at work thought it smelled great, and I think I even convinced a coworker to sign up for scentbox just so they could get their own bottle of this stuff. This is a keeper, for sure.

I wasn’t impressed but maybe it’s just not for me. Too much lemon, and after that passes—it just smells a little grandma-y. I’m more of a stronger with you line guy. I will say the notes blend well together in Layton and the performance was great, I just didn’t like the scent personally.

This is one of my top 5 favorite scents, an all-time classic.

At first spray I didn't like but after the dry down I am liking it a whole lot more.

I find Layton very similar to Carlisle. They are both beautiful. I notice the lavender here, which Carlisle doesn't have, however I don't get the balsamic note (which I think is what some refer to as a "camphor" note) here, which I do get in Carlisle. They do both have that nice green apple note. This one may lean slightly more masculine, in my opinion, due to the lavender, but I'd say they are both unisex for the most part. I think this fragrance would be fine for any season.

Been testing this out for about a week. The new strength of oils makes this last only about 6 hours before fading away entirely. Smells great but doesn't last at all. Nice strong scent at the initial spray but fades away by lunch time. Possibly a $300 scent, definitely not $300 performance!

Bright, sweet opening that I appreciate but not my favorite. The dry down is where the majic is. Goes from a sweet, bright floral opening to a smoky, woody, vanilla after about 30 min to an hour. The quality can't be questioned. With such a drastic opening to dry down journey, I could see why some prefer the opening and not the dry down and vice-versa .

All time favorite!

This cologne somehow didn't appeal to me, it has a synthetic smell with some notes which is displeasing. I know this has good reviews but to me, this was not working at all. Initially I thought it would be just the opening notes which was throwing an off putting scent but it turned out that the dry down too was not that great. I tried to like it, but I just cannot. Maybe I was looking for Layton Exclusif since that had great reviews too but purchased this one instead since the names are similar.

It’s good just like I read that it would be and based off many fragrance reviewers, one thing I wasn’t expecting is that kinda harsh black licorice opening scent. Boy it almost made me regret getting it completely but the dry down is to die for

Marly Layton is complex & familiar with a rich, sexy profile. It's siliage is perfect & will turn heads. Be warned ladies will be chasing you down to ask if they can smell you. My girlfriend loves the slight sent I leave on the bed sheets the next morning. She says it's a mix of my pheromones and the cardamon, vanilla base if Marly Layton.

This cologne is like the pretty, unattainable girl you went to high school with from the wealthy family that thought they were too good for everyone. That’s how you feel when you spray it on…from the opening spicy apple notes to the vanilla & cardamom dry down it smells rich. So smooth and creamy you’ll want to wear it every day knowing you can’t unless you’re loaded or silly with your loot. It’s a special occasion fragrance that could perform a little better, but this is something I’d wear just for me. It makes me feel special and isn’t that why you wear fragrances like this? I do. If someone told me they hated it I could care less. Layton is at the top of the food chain. Start with a sample and see for yourself.

This is a great scent. Although the opening isn't stellar after it settles a bit it comes to life. It's very well blended IMO and everything blends together into a woody incensey slightly sweet with a hint of vanilla scent. Performance on me isn't great at all. Perhaps I could be going nose blind but projection is poor. after 2-3 hours it's a skin scent. This would be a 5 if performance was better

When I first got Layton I couldn’t get enough of it. I was blown away and thought I found my new favorite scent. It smelled like warm green apple pie, but not too deep that it couldn’t be worn to work or in warmer weather. Great performance and great longevity, the best I’ve ever experienced besides Carlisle by PDM. But Now towards the end of my bottle i don’t know what went wrong. Now All I can smell when I spray it is Vaseline or to some “Vicks vapo rub” especially in the opening, though it does get a little better as it dries down. I want to believe that something happened to my bottle to ruin the scent because I was instantly in love with it, but I just don’t know. So I’m gonna have to order another to find out because it’s worth the risk if I can smell how great it was at first just one more time.

I definitely see why people say this smells likes Vicks vapor rub. The dry down isn’t terrible but top isn’t good. Marley Herod is beautiful if you’re looking to try something by them.

There is a lot going on with this fragrance. Its apple, citrus, floral, spicy, vanilla notes all work together to make it both warm and fresh at the same time. For this reason, this is a very versatile fragrance. It is unisex and can be worn day or night in any season. When worn on the skin, it drys down to a predominantly vanilla scent (quite boring), but maintains its complexity if sprayed on clothes. It’s of high quality, but was obviously formulated to be as mass appealing as possible.

Let me start by saying I am not a professional perfumer or fragrance snob, just a regular guy who likes to smell good. This fragrance has strong spice notes, with slight hints of freshness and mint. At times it smells wonderful, but at other times it smells like chemicals, menthol, and old musty furniture. If I barely catch a whiff of it, I enjoy the smell, but if I smell it strongly like when I apply it, it repulses me. I think it smells like if Sauvage and Spicebomb had a baby and that baby grew up and had a baby with a bottle of Vick's vapor rub, and that baby grew up and had a baby with a musty old couch. For what it's worth, this is the 1st scent I've exchanged. To each his own, everyone's nose is different, I'm just thankful for the exchange policy at SCENTBOX. Even though the scent isn't for me, I still give it 3 stars for longevity and performance.

It’s great all around but I didn’t think it was in the top 5 fragrances of all time like it is on parfumo. I think it’s a safe fragrance. Pretty much everyone one will think it’s nice, but to me it doesn’t really stand out or live up to its hype. Am I going to wear the sample, yeah of course it’s still enjoyable. Am I going to buy a full bottle? No I wouldn’t. Even if it was 100 dollars cheaper I probably still wouldn’t.

Smells like apple pie in all the right ways. Sweet apple and citrus opening and floral at heart. Then dries down with a smooth vanilla, woody aroma. Decent performance for 4-6 hrs and light to medium sillage. I'd say it makes more sense to wear afternoon to evening especially considering how warm and inviting the dry down is. Amazing dry down. Super versatile for both men and women. Easy buy for anyone new to niche fragrances in my opinion.

I like this fragrance alot. It's a very pleasant scent as well as an attention grabber lol.

I tried different scents but I keep coming back to this scent. The profile on it has the best layers, and the musk is unbeatable cause it's literally cat piss or something. It last all day even on hot sweaty days, you might go nose blind. Flankers I recommend if you get bored are: Aqua Di Gio Profumo (Spicy Ocean Musk) YSL La Nuit De L'homme (Sexiest Flower Man, you'll keep smelling yourself) Not on here but Aqua Di Gio Absolu Instinct is probably tied for 1st place. It's crack in a bottle put that on everything.

This may sound weird - but if you’ve ever smelled the regular brand “Chapstick” in the black tube..this smells just like that to me and a subtle spice aroma after.

Overall, a very nice fragrance. Considering the very high price of this fragrance, I guess that I was expecting to have my socks knocked off, but they're still on. This fragrance reminds me of Angel Amen, which you can purchase at a much cheaper price. It's a sweet smelling fragrance with noticeable hints of chocolate. This was my first journey into the world of Parfums De Marly and , unfortunately, the trip could have been much nicer.

Like a couple of fragrances that I’ve tried (like YSL La Nuit De L’Homme) It Took a few wears (3-4) for it to start clicking with my skin chemistry but when it did it was amazing! I’ve come to love the fragrance personally, will be purchasing a full size bottle soon

It may choke you out in a confined environment or the high heat (if you’re trigger happy). Past that, it is splendid. Classy and beautifully blended.

Smells really good. Perfect for colder weather. The opening is amazing. Apple, woodsy vanilla. Thank God for Scentbox to try it out as I don't see it being worth the couple hundred dollars a bottle normally is. Just like with any over-priced niche cologne.

Seriously, this is one of those fragrances that live up to the hype. Contemporary masterpiece, that is a real crowd pleaser. Killer protection and longevity. Even if that wasn’t the case, I’d happily reapply all day it smells so good. The only down fall is it’s one of the most popular niche frags after adventus. If you haven’t tried this yet, you owe it to yourself;)

I really like this one. A steep price, but worth it. Lasted a solid 6 hours with good projection.

Very happy with this one, always wanted to try the Parfums De Marly fragrances. Was not disappointed whatsoever with this one, the longevity is to be expected of most reviews 8+ hours, although the silage was good it could’ve been better. I personally got 3 hours at about an arms length before it became a complete skin scent, which is common for a decent designer fragrance. I figured it would be better considering the price of a bottle, makes me wonder if it’s been reformulated. Now don’t get me wrong 3 hours really isn’t bad at all, I just expected more from a niche house with such an prestigious reputation. it is an amazing scent though. I’d definitely recommend this if you are into oriental fragrances.

This scent in my opinion is extremely overhyped. I didn’t hate the scent but it wasn’t my style. My Wife also did not care for it. She told me I smelled like cedar. I was expecting a lot more from my first Niche fragrance. Not worth the hype or price.

I had to get a sample of this fragrance after reading so much about it and watching several YouTube personalities review it. I must say I am thoroughly impressed! It smells great from the onset to me but not oh boy does it get even better once it dries down. It goes from good to great! I can smell it on me all day and people often ask what I’m wearing. Surely worth buying a bottle in my opinion. That’s just what I’m going to do now. I can’t get enough of this scent.

Stick with the fragrance after first spray. It settles in really really nice. The vanilla, sandalwood and lavender blend incredibly well together. This is such a warm and nice scent that I'd wear it in the cooler months. Longevity and projection are ok.

Ive got to admit that I thought this fragrance was over hyped, but oh boy was I wrong!! At the first spray i was like “it aight” was not impressed, but then the other notes started to kick in and i was liking the scent more as the notes evolved throughout my skin. Then to top it all of, the longevity on clothes is amazing, im talking about days!! This is on my top 5 now

A very good pick! Clearly some excellent naturals, and aroma chemicals here. The green apple in the top is dominant and is tart like biting into a fresh Granny Smith. It dries down to a dry woody note and sticks to the skin for about 5-6 hours. I spray 3 sprays on one wrist, then lightly dab onto the other, 2 sprays on the back of my neck, and 1 spray on each shoulder so I can get a good sniff when I turn my head. This reminds me a lot of YSL La Nuit De L’Homme, but with far better performance. Overall, I was expecting a bit more from this given all the hype.

One of the wildest scents I’ve ever wore. I absolutely love it. The scent seemed to change throughout the day for me which is why I like it so much. It’s a must try for someone looking for a new unique scent.

Took me awhile to warm up to it. At first i thought it smelled like orange flavored soda but i grew to like the mid and dry down. Good but i wouldn't go out of my way to get this again

The smell is fantastic! This was my first experience. It didn’t last as long as I hoped but I did receive one unsolicited oh my what is that with someone. Makes me think the Layton Exclusive might be perfect for me.

This is a wild fragrance!! My husband spayed on both wrists and his shirt and we smelled 3 different scents in 3 different places as it progressed! So cool.. On his shirt it does give a slight menthol like a hall's cough drop.. On one wrist he sprayed twice and it smelled smooth and woodsy, 'kind of' like old spice.. On the other wrist (1 spray) it smelled a bit like a warm apple pie! It's an addicting scent. Has great longitivity and It lasted forever on his shirt

I just can’t quite explain what this smells like but it’s unique, and it lasts a hell of a long time. A new favorite of mine. Saving up for a full 100 mL bottle.

I ordered it after looking at a lot of reviews. Overall very happy with it. Was mostly as expected with me. I've been able to use it and it has good projection and lasts quite a while on my skin (lasts after a full day at work). The dry down has a distinct vanilla note to me. I've never noticed the apple that some say they notice in the opening. I am fairly new to fragrance, but this is my wife's favorite so far.

This is nice. Definitely more unisex than masculine as other reviews have mentioned (to be fair, I tend to think most unisex scents lean feminine). The sweetness was a bit surprising but not too much.

Was really looking forward to this after reading much reviews. Not for me, smells good at first but dries down fast to smelling like chocolate, maybe white chocolate. Don’t last very long. None of the Parfums De Marly do as I’ve noticed. Try anything from Mancera and Montale. Creeds don’t last long either.

Spicy definitely a winter fall fragrance. But it is unique I like it

I may have expected too much from this scent. The reviews from fragrance experts, that I like, were very positive for Layton. I am ambivalent- it is a nice scent, but not a standout.

If you like sweet, gourmand fragrances, you will probably like this. I was blown away by how sweet this is, way too sweet for me. It can pass as a man's fragrance but definitely unisex. Not really what I would call "masculine" at all. The opening is incredibly strong and will fill up the entire room with one spray. Longevity is great and will project for 4 hours or so on my skin. So unless you constantly want to smell extremely sweet, sugary, lavendar/vanilla apple pie for 4 hours, I wouldn't recommend this. I could see how in passing someone would like it, but constantly smelling this is just a little much for me. But if you like fragrances like La'male and Boss bottled intense, you will like this.

Quality is what you get.

It's a great soft fuzzy aromatic apple woody vanilla fragrance. You get slight cardamon and cinnamon in there too which makes the fragrance slightly warm but is extremely pleasant. Great scent for dates, evening wear in cool(spring, fall) climate. Lasts for 6 hours with good projection for 1.5 hrs and then it sits close to skin.

Wow, I didnt expect his scent. The opening is amazing!! Mid notes are just as good as the opening. After about 6 hours still strong, more unisex at that point but still amazing scent. Wife LOVED IT!!!

Was looking forward to getting this fragrance, but it was less than I hoped for regarding the strength. It did not blend well with my skin. I will say it definitely lasts longer than most fragrances I’ve had.

I had high hopes for this given many reviews and YouTube videos I watched regarding it. THIS STUFF IS FANTASTIC! Smells warm, smooth, and wonderful. I will absolutely be buying a full bottle this fall.

One of my favorites so far, but not quite awesome enough for 5-stars. I really loved the opening! I loved the note combination of woods, hint of spice, and a bath of vanilla. The dry down lasted all day, which I loved. Here's what my nose kept smelling on my arm later in the day...call me crazy if you want....Werther's Original hard candy!

I went through a crazy adventure smelling this fragrance. I normally lean towards the manlier scents but layton taught me something about my nose today. Its been on skin for 2 hours and I just feel great. I didn't like the alcohol smell when wet but on the dry down a friggin wave of scents took over that just blend amazingly. I love it. I really like this fragrance and I will be buying a full bottle after this bottle is near empty

A powerhouse fragrance from, in my opinion, the best niche fragrance house out there. This is one to make as your signature scent. From the opening to the dry down this fragrance does not disappoint. Unisex leaning towards more masculine. Longevity is awesome. It's a sweeter oriental fragrance with a nice freshness to it but one that can definitely impress the ladies if it's your signature scent. A fall fragrance that could be pulled off in the Spring as well. Could pass as a summer date night fragrance as long as you are inside away from the scorching heat. Hoping scentbox gets Carlisle and Layton Exclusif to round out their Parfuks de Marly selections.
