This is a great fragrance to wear for a date night. Very sexy and seductive. Though it does kind of have like a "dust" smell afterwards, which is weird, but it isn't overpowering, so the "dust" smell doesn't last long and your left with a beautiful sexy fragrance.

This is in my fall/winter rotation. It is very strong at first. If you put it on before bed you won't need more the next day. Less is more and it stays on your skin until you wash it off. It doesn't smell like flowers, cookies, or amber. It's just a warm, sweet, dense, smooth scent that makes you feel cozy.

I do like this fragrance it is strong so less is more.

I didn't expect this to smell so good. I love it. It's not a mature scent either, as some of the reviews say. It isn't strong, and over powering. Unfortunately, the scent only lasts about an hour, or two. So, not worth the price there. I will still get another month's supply later sometime, because it smells so good.

I don't love this. The notes sound fantastic, but believe me, this combo is average. It comes off like harsh cleaning product. The dry down is ok but not worth the wait. Disappointing.

Great fragrance. One of my favorites.

It has a deeper citrus like aroma to it, but almost a ginger and spice feel as well. I found it confusing. I'm really not sure I like it in this season. Maybe it'll suit me better in the deep fall.

For about the first 2 hours this scent reminds me so much of Brit by Burberry. Very heavy in vanilla and maybe amber. After 2 hours the vanilla fades and it sort of takes on a slight licorice scent.

This perfume isn't the most amazing thing in the world, but I'll wear it until it's gone. I like it, I just feel like it smells just like almost everything else I get, it's hard to tell the big difference. This one smells a lot like jasmine to me though. I am getting to the point of just cancelling though, because like I said, almost everything is almost the exact same scent.

A bit powdery for me, I noticed I enjoy the scent after it has settled on my clothes/skin for a few hours but not so much when I first spray it. It is a mature scent and when settled on skin has a nice warm vanilla scent to it.

I opened the bottle and immediately LOVED it. I applied it and still loved the warm, slightly sweet, slightly exotic smell of this. I chose it because I LOVE black Currant in a perfume, and it usually wears well on me. There is very little "throw", the smell stays very close, and my cubicle buddy didn't even know I had perfume on at all. That's usually a plus in a close office environment! My only complaint is after an hour, it disappears. Nothing. No hint of it lingers on my skin. My body has devoured it. I'll try spritzing on my clothes and hair next time, to see if it lingers any better.

LOVE this fragrance! I would describe this scent as sexy, classy, rich, romantic, and warm. Exactly what I've been looking for! It smells mature, but definitely does NOT have the "old lady" smell, which I tend to avoid as I'm 25. And it's not too sweet in my opinion. This is perfect for evening events and date nights in the cooler seasons. I can't get enough of it!

One of my favorites. I like the sweet ones. A little vanilla a little fruity and sandalwood is one of my favorites. It lasts the day on me but not too overwhelmingly. And I like catching the hint of the scent throughout the day. It's my go to if I'm not sure what to wear.

I was expecting something else, I think. It was ok. Softer than I was looking for. It doesn't make an impression when it enters a room. If you like a soft, everyday, safe scent, you have found one. My the other reviews I thought I was getting something closer to Elizabeth and James Nirvana, Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb, Thierrry Mugler, Dior Pure Poison, or Versace Eros. Nothing like that. You would find this on your grandmother's shelf. This is soft and feminine.

I wanted to love this scent but I don't. It's smells sweet which is what I like but it also smells very musky which reminds me of old lady perfume. A little musk is great but it is so overbearing it takes away from the sweet smell. Sad because it kind of remind me of Dior hypnotic poison with musk on steroids

I discovered this perfume about ten years ago, and fell head over heels in love. I'm not a fruity, or light floral type of fragrance gal. I love my earthy, musky, exotic scents, and Deep Red hits all those for me. And also an A+ to ScentBox, y'all have given me an inexpensive way to now own my favourites, as well as an inexpensive way to try new perfumes. And the packaging, fantastic as well!!! I was so impressed with my Deep Red, my very first perfume from ScentBox, that I will be a loyal customer for years to come!!

This fragrance smells warm, with amber notes. Its a perfect blend of warmer notes, especially for me becuz im not so into overpowering "spicy, amber" type perfumes. Its mysterious and sexy...but save it for fall and winter. One of my favorites....i dont think you can go wrong...the boyfriend LOVES it!

I came upon this perfume a couple years ago, and bought a bottle. It's feminine, sexy, mysterious, and warm. Like warmed spices in with some deep florals and ambers. It's sexy, and I have smelled some other perfumes like it. Still love it the best.

Hugo Boss doesn't work for me apparently. I bought this one 'cause it seemed to be refreshing and sophisticated at the same time. But the first time I sprayed it on me... dissapointment!! It smelled like bug spray really! No, Hugo Boss is not making fragrances for me, definetly.

Hi again Maya, just read your post re Pure Purple which I have just purchased wow you were right, it is absolutely beautiful starts off smelling like marzipan (which I love) and dries down to a georgeous scent similar to Euphoria ( I think) in my top five you will have to try it . If you are looking for almond type scents you could also try Les Belles de Ricci Almond Amour which I have ordered (without trying it first so I hope Ill like it) Good luck and happy sniffing.

This fragrance is something awesome! It reminds me of Hypnotic Poison by Dior but much better. I like Hypnotic Poison but find it a bit much for office-wear and sometimes it tends to give me a headache. Deep Red however is perfect. It has that something very mysterious and special and wears long and really is very sexy. I get compliments when I wear it and I love it.

Here is the description... You will so love this one! Ohh and it's totally different from Deer Red ... it sort of reminds me of Lou Lou - kind of like a little sister who follows in her footsteps only a bit "trendier"... please forgive me for the use of that word ;) "Hugo Pure Purple will hit the shelves in February 2006 and is a floriental fragrance with gourmand notes formed from four accords, nectarine, black violet, sweet white marzipan and white suede(Ohh this is just delicious). The fragrance joins Hugo Woman and Deep Red in the portfolio (but in my opinion is far better then both).The juice opens with notes of nectarine and white cyclamen, while black violet forms the heart of the fragrance. The base is composed from notes of sweet white marzipan and white suede (really this is so beautiful and sensuous). I have no idea why anyone would say that this fragrance is masculine. It's just deep and quite steamy but not masculine by any stretch. Those who think that, must have a nose only for flowery and candy smelling scents. Nothing wrong with that, only why say anything so silly about Deep Red! Kind of shows your inability to open up your mind a bit. Once again that is just my opinion. As for Deep Red, I think that the fragrance is really terrific and very sexy as well as feminine. And really the name does say it all. Probably the woman who would think this too masculine would be the type to never even dream of wearing a deep red sexy dress to a party either (well maybe only dream about it). But that would not be me! Ladies, Really, live a little it won’t hurt you!

i really do love this fragrance... it's so dark and rich, it almost makes me feel like i ate too much. the exotic elegance is extremely potent-- not for the faint of nose. the dry-down is absolutely enchanting... luscious, hypnotic. it's just too dark and rich and mature for me... i wouldn't say that it might suit a man more, but i think it would definitely suit a man also. not how you might usually imagine a pretty girl would smell like.

It might be just me, but at first this fragrance is Awesome! Amazing! Deep! Dark! Sensuous! Sexy! All the good things the reviewers have mentioned before me. And then it all of a sudden turns into something not too attractive at all! It looses it's depth, sex appeal and sensuousness -- all that is left is a slightly cloying sort of bug repellent scent... I wore it a few times before that and never noticed the change to BAD = Maybe I was too in love to see it! But last time I had it on this totally weird thing happened, the fragrance turned in a funny way. I don't think I'll be wearing it again any time soon! Now I do admit that it could have just been my chemistry that day, but I would rather not experiment with when wearing it to an important meeting for example. And so now I'm having a hard time to rate it. Had a written a review for it 3 weeks ago I would have given it 4, maybe 5* but I think I'll skip on rating it for now and write an update after I've worn it again! I just tried this one at the store yesterday and WOW! I had no idea that among all the other sporty fragrances by Hugo there was this incredible scent! My sister and I both fell in love with it right away - but I still decided to forgo it this time and bought instead of it Mont Blank - Presence ! However, I will most definitely keep this one in mind for my next purchase! I also really like Hypnotic Poison by Dior and this one totally reminds me of it... GREAT STUFF!

I love the smell, its classy, my only peeve is that it never stays on long. I was told thats because the designer uses synthetic oils and natural ones. Thats the only mark of a longlasting perfume; it has to be au naturel.

I was in your common drug-store, perusing the glass cabinets filled with big, elaborate bottles. It was the initial simplicity that caught my eye, the sleek contours of the crimson bottom. Something compelled me to try it, and I was not disappointed. A /fabulous/ scent that allows you to express your spin on femininity. No, I'm not shamelessly advertising for Hugo, but I am commending them on a scent that seems to blend almost every aspect of my personality in a bottle.

I was looking for something different and worth the money...I wish this lasted longer on me, but overall it's a very sexy, & warm scent! Smells similar to some perfumes out there, but there's just something more to this one. Maybe layering the lotion and body spray with the perfume will help. After 20 minutes it's gone with me...I'll still use it up, it's a nice one for night or on a date.

I've very picky when it comes to the scents of perfumes, Deep Red by Hugo Boss is one of my favorites, a definite night time fragrance. I also love Givenchy Couture Hot. I recommend both perfumes to any girls collection as must haves! Givenchy's hot is more of a evening fragrance as well, but I wear it almost everyday when I'm not wearing deep red = )

So glad i got this. It is a lovley smell. Stong but not headachey if that makes sense. It doe'snt linger too long but for me i think this is sort of a bonus. There are alot of good deals out there on this perfume. I just had to buy it. I t keeps you wanting more. Better than Gucci rush as no headaches with this. Sweet sexy and just the right notes for me. I believe it does really grow on you.

Perfumes are not the same for any two people. Our body chemistry affects how a scent will really appear after we put it on. That said, it works very well for me. It's a fantastic sexy (but not too much) fragrance. I like the rich, warm scent of it. It makes me think of soft damask velvet and fruit. I have Givenchy's Hot Couture, and though I love it it is just too strong for me. Deep Red is just enough for me to be able to wear comfortable when I go out.

Eeww...I spoke too soon on my last post. It IS one of the worst ever. As I keep wearing this scent it is starting to nauseate me. I must wash it off after I type this. I have to disagree with the men who say this is sexy and for classy women. I am a perfume lover and know all sorts of classy scents, and this is not one of them. There is that rootbeer sort of note with a strong lily scent and a Hypnotic Poison sort of smell all blended together, and to me it is not appealing at all... like I said, it's nauseating. It is a very distinctive smell and I guess you either love it or hate it!

It is not the worst ever, but still it is far from the sexy, sensual, etc. that they say it's supposed to be. I have a sample on right now, and I'd say that I can see how one person likened it to toilet cleaner... I think it's that lily smell in the middle notes. Sort of smells like Hypnotic Poison once the top notes wear off... if you like that one, then you might like this.

Someone at the office wears this stuff. It reminds me of toilet duck. There's something too harsh and chemical in it, but disturbingly sickly at the same time.

This one is a keeper if you like mysterious, sensuous, seductive scents. I guarantee it will send your man to the bedroom with his tail between his legs.

Any helpful comparisons between Deep Red & Boss Intense? I need to go to a department store to smell the Intense. I already know I love Deep Red! Does anyone know which one's best? I can't imagine Intense smelling better than Deep Red though. Deep Red's the best I've smelled so far. Any input on Intense anyone?

I loved it and bought the bottle couple of weeks ago, because my husband liked it on me very much. It's a sweet scent, but in a good, sensual way. Totally delicious. A big winner in my book !

You may want to try "Shalimar", "Obsession" or "Dior Addict"....by the way, "Deep Red" is OK for casual wear. It tends to evaporize too quickly.

This scent is not strong but also not light. It isn´t a must have for me but I also can´t say that it smells worse. I know many people who like deep red. I would say that it is an oriental scent, but as mentioned not to strong. A while I also used it but now it is to much for me. I still prefer lighter and more refreshing fragrances. Try it maybe you like it!

A female friend of mine wore it out one night, I love the pear(?) in it, very spunky, fresh and sexy smell.

I had a saleslady try to hard sell me this stuff after I told her I liked Lauren by RL. She said it was similar, it's not. She sprayed it on my arm even though I didn't want her to and I HATED it, I immediately left the store without buying anything. Fortunately, Deep Red had no staying power so I didn't have to suffer too long. The smell to me was stuffy, irritating. There's no way I'd pay money for it.

It smells very pretty, however, this fades so fast that an hour or two later you can barely smell it. I really wanted to love this one after the reviews and descriptions. I got a sample of his newest, Hugo Boss Intense, and I think this one is much nicer, or should I say more sensual...I only tried it on once though, and need to try again before I purchase a bottle.

This is very nice scent--fruity, sweet, warm, sexy. However it has absolutely no staying power! The scent's gone in 15 minutes.

I picked up on both apples and mint right away and, to my great disappointment, the dry-down was dominated by that screeching cassis smell that induces an immediate headache in me. Never got a hint of vanilla nor spiciness, which, combined with exotic fruits, would normally thrill me.

This smells very nice. At first, it might appear too strong, but it quickly tones down to a lovely fruity, musky, vanilla scent. Cherry vanilla to be more exact. Just wish it lasted longer. Fades pretty quickly.

Not what it seems to be.

When I first smelled deep red, it smelled spicy to me, I had to have it, then I went and bought it, now...I can't make up my mind if I like it or not...It has a mint or something to it that bothers me...For some reason it just doesn't smell right on me. It's got to be my chemistry because I smelled it on the saleslady and it was wonderful. I don't like perfumes like this one. Here I can smell menthol and warm vanilla. It is not bad, but is is not good enough.

Deep Red is not bad, but it is not special at all. Sweet, trendy,smell changes after a while. Plain... It could be pleasant for young people because it reminds you of red sweet fruits, raspberries, strawberries or something like that, but as I said - scent evaporates quickly and changes - could be cloying after a while. Not very quality fragrance. If you are 17 and have dozen of other fragrances to wear and change every day - it's OK.

Interestingly, I don't find this fragrance seductive at all. It is dark, sweet, and mysterious but, don't believe the hype. In my opinion, it's not alluring at all. I was so disappointed after I took the bottle home. I definately picked up on the minty undertone that someone else noted. To be fair, maybe it simply doesn't work with my body chemistry. So, I think I'll stick with Versace's Versus which I think is absolutely fabulous.

It's nothing new or special but it is good for a BOSS perfume. Usually I hate BOSS perfume but this is the exception. Nothing new but not bad.

I have used Poison for years because I could not find a fragrance worth a switch UNTIL Hugo Deep Red! I disagree that it is only for young women. I am middle-aged and love it. I have had many, many compliments from both men and women. I like the fact that the fragrance softens as you wear it and becomes very subtle. I use Deep Red exclusively now. It is absolutely perfect for me! My husband is sold on it, also. It is SEXY!

I love that Deep Red. it smell soo alike floral, when i put on rub the card test.. and it still on my wrist till in the morning i can smell myself wow it must be very pretty sexy scents alike light floral.. it last stay longer.. A consultant at the mall was spraying some perfumes on cards for me... Some of them smelled ok, clearing my noes with a votive filled with coffee beans (?) which apparently cleared the scent from my nostrils before I tired the next one... Then she sprayed Deep Red... first reaction was WOW... this perfume really stood out and as opposed to the typical alcohol smell you may get at first, this was incredibly sweet smelling. Couldnt put my finger on what it was... but it was good. However this scent does soften over time... so much you have to be very close to your skin to smell it. So its rich but not pungent... very soft.

I thought Deep Red was pretty good - I like fruity scents. But there was also a distinct minty smell that I couldn't get past.

Yes, Hypnotic Poison IS heavier and, in my opinion, too sickly sweet. Dark Red is much softer though it has character and is long lasting. Yes, and Dark Red should definitely be used on the skin. Otherwise, it is terrible, artificial, totally gross, almost like celluloid toys. If it's used right, Deep Red is wonderful. There are a lot of good smells out there but this one is not only good but also really fits into me.

OK - I'm giving up, I have to buy it, you are all raving about it. I've tried it only once and it was good, but maybe too fruity...but I'm going to give it one more chance (like Karina). I just hope it is not something like Gucci Rush or red Dolce&Gabbana (or something like that). Someone said it is similar to Dior's Hypnotic Poison, but as far as I remember Hypnotic Poison is much heavier and "darker"!? Am I right?

My girlfriend looks young for 21 years and she wanted a perfume that was youthful (like Flowers) but a bit more mature and sophisticated. After trying many yummy scents which were too youthful or mature, I happened upon Deep Red I was in love. I let her try it. Love. WOW! I'm a perfume lover, and I think a scent says more than words. I really fell in love with Deep Red, but unfortunately it fades away rather quickly compared to certain other perfumes. Still, I can recommend this scent. It's sensual and fruity.

I've changed my mind about this one...when I first tried some at the fragrance counter, I thought it was definitely different smelling and interesting, but I didn't fall in love with it. After trying it a few more times, however, it's grown on me to the point where I think I really do love it! Perfumelover's comment about it smelling much better on your skin than on a fragrance card is true- this one has a somewhat synthetic smell at first that is kind of unpleasant, but let it sit on your skin & warm up for a minute and it disappears- and ends up smelling YUMMY! This is one sexy scent- the only thing I can compare it to is a bowl of luscious, ripe spiced fruit. (But it's not one of those "food-like" fragrances at all). Give Deep Red a try- it's delicious!

This is the sexiest fragrance I've ever smelt..and I'm Italian, so trust me, I know what I'm talking about..makes me feel wildly seductive & in control at the same time... oh boy, I'm thru my second bottle already...

This isn't quite what I expected- a friend of mine was raving about it, so I tried some at the fragrance counter. I thought it would be kind of Oriental and mysterious, but it was a very (and I do mean very!) fruity scent, extremely tangy, like tart berries. Normally fruity scents are not my thing, but this isn't bad, since it's not a sickly-sweet fruit smell.There's also a spicy element to it, a kind of sharpness (the salesgirl said it had black pepper in it!) I don't think I'll buy a bottle, but I have to give it credit simply for smelling different. An interesting fragrance that will appeal to those looking for something original.
