Smells good dosent last long

This is not a gourmand and it's primary seasons are spring/summer, not winter. ScentBox's profile of this scent is all wrong. It's not a sporty or workout kind of scent either. It's calming. It smells like Boadicea the Victorious' Hanuman, but with poorer performance. Scent is a 9/10. Pity the longevity is so bad.

The floral scent just wasn’t for me. I tried to like it, it has a nice layered complexity and was long lasting which is great if this is your scent preference. Don’t take my review to mean it’s a bad perfume, the strong floral notes are just not my preference.

Loved the scent. Super feminine and fresh. Perfect scent year round. I wish it lasted longer.

Pleasant, fresh, clean smelling, slightly powdery. The citrus element is very well crafted. (It has a scent profile that makes me think of my mother in her bathrobe after a steamy shower with her hair up in hard rollers.) Consider this perfume if you have a collection of clean smelling fragrances. Lasts about 6 hours on my skin.

Beautiful clean fragrance with unisex floral notes. My preference is for rich, woody, and resinous winter fragrances. If I was going for a fresh and clean summer fragrance, I would grab this. It has a nuanced and subtle complexity. I think the best fragrances are the ones that take time to get to know.

This perfume has been my favorite for years. I don’t care that some people think it’s overhyped. The initial smell is amazing, but after an hour on my skin, it is divine. It smells warm and I get more woody vibes than floral despite that being the normal grouping I find it in.

I really like this scent, I get compliments, and even the occasional sniff, the only downs side is that it does not last long at all. I will definitely put it to the and use it for special short term occasions. I do love it but it doesn’t last long!!!

If you like a clean but not overly powdery scent than this is for you. I wish it smelled better on me but it's just not my type of scent. I do like how it smells on other people.

My favorite scent I've received so far after 4 months exploring Platinum/Premium fragrances. This has a great woody bottom note, but also incorporates a sweetness and freshness that make the fragrance complex and interesting. The staying power is definitely above average. Considering a full bottle.

Clean, fresh. I love this for an everyday scent

This fragrance is simple/clean and complex. It smells clean and is also sensual and sexy.

Beautiful, pleasant, clean, fresh fragrance. Inoffensive and office friendly. Has a unique, very distinctive scent that is signature scent worthy. Great for the spring and summer but can be worn year round. Unisex with a very slight hint of coconut water/sweetness. I enjoyed this fragrance a lot and plan to have it permanently is my (deliberately) limited collection.

Smells very clean and cozy. It’s a fragrance that will turn heads but not give anyone a headache. I need to spray again after a few hours but the smell is worth it. Not only did I like it but my husband loved the smell on me as well so I recommend it. 4 stars because it lasts less than other scents.

Subtle, citrusy, woody, sweet. That African violet note is incredible. It is a very well balanced perfume. Noticeable, but also safe and inoffensive. Flowery, but in a soft way which is balanced by the citrus and woody notes. Citrusy, but just a hint (not like a cleaner). It is one of the few perfumes where I find the citrus is present and accentuates the perfume, rather than overtaking everything. The biggest disappointment with this perfume is it has less longevity than most scents in its price category. It is mostly gone by 6 hrs. Definitely one that needs a touch up spray at some point in the day. Moderate sillage. One of those scents that someone notices when in your personal bubble.

Love. It was not love at first sight. It sits close to the skin so you won’t smell it from far unless you spray your clothes and the. It gets much better longevity and I could smell it all day. Perfect balance of clean, fresh, woody, herbal, and creamy notes. Wearable at any time of year and office safe.

Super clean scent, almost soap like, but in a good way. It’s light, powdery and cozy all at the same time. It’s not something I will wear often, but I think for someone who enjoyed very clean scents, this is worth a try! I got about 3 hours of longevity from it and found it to be very strong for the first hour or so.

I looove this fragrance. Definitely going to be purchasing a full bottle when this is finished. It’s floral but creamy, it reminds me a lot of my Ceremonia shampoo/conditioner. It’s truly lovely. Not overpowering but definitely lingers on my skin.

Reminds me of a more subtle version of Wood Sage & Sea Salt by Jo Malone, if it had stronger citrus notes. Pretty safe scent while being enticing? For sure unisex.

Nice Gourmand fresh fruity fragrance..!!

Lovely scent, quite a bit citrusy on me, but not offensive. Don’t over do it though. A little goes a long way.

This starts out with strong citrus notes, bitter lemon quickly becoming sweet lemon but within minutes the citrus notes have calmed and blended into a soft, clean, lightly floral fragrance. Reminds me of a luxurious body lotion. Very subtle, soft and comforting; more inviting than intoxicating. I think it would be perfect for summer day time wear.

Starts out okay but then it smells like a mature woman, but sadly not in a good way. It doesn't have a good projection either. To me it has like an 80's tanning lotion scent. Smells like a MLM Beauty company perfume ??

Fragrance is pretty enough. It does smell like a luxurious hotel but it lasts all of an hour before it's gone.

Something about the creamy mango note I didn't like that much. Definitely still an easy to wear one if you like the scent though.

Very elegant and warm scent. Cozy and fresh. Longevity is nice but I enjoy that it mellows out after awhile.

It took me a few wears to warm up, but it's now in my rotation- the floral it top heavy at first but then it mellows and blends with a clean soft all day wear. I will definitely purchase again!

This is a fresh, lightly sweet citrus with a comforting musky slightly woody dry down. I don’t get a ton of floral, mostly a mild powdery type note. The citrus actually lasts pretty long on my skin compared to most (stayed present in the dry down for at least 1-2 hours). I never thought I would like this based on the notes, but its so beautiful and well-blended. Definitely going to full-size it. There is a reason it’s a best-seller, I just wish it lasted a bit longer especially for the price point.

Got a sample of this about a year ago, and really liked that it smelled clean with a bit of woody spiciness. Tried again a few months ago, and it just smells like Dawn dish soap. Don't know if this was reformulated? For the high price tag, I would expect more. Also, longevity isn't stellar.

Love this one! Can't explain, but its super fresh and gives pretty vibes to me. My mom said it smells like old lady, but I don't think so. I just wish it lasted longer, thats the only reason I knocked off a star, and won't purchase a full bottle.

Starts with bright citrus from the rind rather than the juice. Warm, dry, fresh. Like desert air. I don't get gourmand from this one as others do - the aromatic quality is more herbal than sweet. Easy to wear everywhere every day.

I really like this scent a lot, I just wish it lasted longer on the skin. It doesn’t have longevity, maybe 3 or 4 hours on skin. But a great clean smell.

I prefer a bit stronger spillage, this scent smelled clean and fresh but seemed to dissipate quickly. I kept it for the rotation.

The dry down of this smells like laundry soap to me. Not unpleasant, but not something I would wear. Also not very long lasting for me, sprayed it on before bed and couldn't smell it by morning at all.

This one surprised me. For it to be a unisex fragrance it is definitely more feminine. I love how fresh it is. Will be purchasing a full bottle.

I loved this. I wasn’t sure at first. It starts out as a very perfume-y perfume (I don’t know how else to say it), the kind you can taste in the back of your throat. But it settles quickly into an absolutely intoxicating vanilla-and-offbeat-floral that made me want to huff myself all day. As a note, I am aware that a lot of people have issues with longevity with this fragrance and Byredo in general, but this lasted all day for me and for days after on clothing.

Initially not impressed. Tried it again and it is Mid for a platinum fragrance.

I got this in the same time I received Creed Himulaya, Bond 9 Scent of Man—- BUT THIS WAS BETTER!!! This listed above ALL smells phenomenal but this Bal D’Afrique is a winner. I went and purchased the 1.7 oz bottle. Instant head turner. I highly recommend this. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!

This is my first 5 star scent! Absolutely worth purchasing the full bottle but I would like to try the oil first. I places it on my bedding after a fresh wash and enjoyed.

Great smelling scent with beautifully done ingredients. At first spray, the top notes almost create an unsmoked cannabis-like aroma that's both sharp and earthy. Where I think this fragrance really shines, however, is the dry-down which is woodsy with some tartness in the background that I have yet to smell from another cologne. Longevity is average\a bit above average. The only thing stopping me from rating it a 5 is the lack of sillage as most of my coworkers could barely smell it unless they were about 2 or so feet away from me. Definitely more of a spring/summer fragrance here in Nashville, TN.

So this is a tricky one for me. I can smell cardamom & a bit of citrus eventually. But there’s a powdery opening that fritzed out my nose so badly. Just reading reviews I was so sure I’d love it, but sadly I had to return. I just got overwhelmed by the “old lady” smell. Maybe it performs better on others?

I have really been wanting to try this fragrance so I was really excited that it was available on here. I do enjoy it and find it to be fresh, clean, woody, unisex. Not sweet or gourmand at all to me. But I don't think it is special or strong/long lasting enough to be full bottle worthy considering the price.

The most beautiful scent ever! Very subtle and soft, cozy but flower fresh at the same time, not overpowering but long lasting. Hint of powdery note, not sweet.
